All data is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This means:

Permissions Usage

Tabs Permission

Used to track which tab is currently active and monitor time spent on websites. We only access tab URLs to identify domains for time tracking purposes.

Storage Permission

Used to save your time tracking data, configured limits, and preferences locally on your device.

Notifications Permission

Used to display browser notifications when you exceed your configured time limits. Notifications are only shown locally and are not transmitted anywhere.

Scripting Permission

Used to inject a blocking screen into web pages when time limits are exceeded. This is done locally on your device only.

Host Permissions

Required to track time on any website you visit and apply time limits. We do not collect, transmit, or store any content from websites you visit.

Third-Party Services

Tab Timer does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, or tracking technologies.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by:

  1. Using the "Clear Today's Data" feature in the extension settings
  2. Uninstalling the extension (which removes all locally stored data)
  3. Manually clearing Chrome's extension storage

Children's Privacy

Tab Timer does not knowingly collect any information from children. Our extension is designed for general use and does not require user registration or personal information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your Rights
